
Ben grew up in New York and was taught to sew by his grandmother. He went on to study sculpture at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Ben moved to London in 1982 to pursue his dream of becoming a fashion designer. Ben de Lisi is a prolific fashion designer. He designed the knockout red Oscar dress that marked Kate Winslet’s transformation into a Hollywood glamour puss, as well as designing clothes for stars including; Liz Hurley, Rachel Weisz and Jemima Khan. He’s also been named glamour designer of the year at the British Fashion Awards. With his shop in central London and with his range at Debenhams becoming one of the largest selling ranges in the Designers at Debenhams collection, the Ben de Lisi brand is growing all the time. Now international fashion guru, Ben de Lisi has turned his skills to interior designs by launching a range of bathrooms, thus turning the bathroom from merely a functional room into a sanctuary.
